Weight Loss Protocol
Rather than concentrating on weight loss we would like to focus you on becoming healthy. Simply starving the body may lead to short term weight loss, but not an increase in your health. Also, this type of weight loss will almost always result in the rebound effect, in which the patient gains back as much as or more than they lost. Dr. Payne has come up with a four pillar approach to losing weight the healthy way that will last. The four pillars are supplementation, mind, diet and exercise.
Supplementation
The unique supplements that we use in this program really do help make weight loss easy. Your body craves the nutrients that it needs to keep it functioning. Hunger is your body’s way of making you find those nutrients. Therefore, when your body has all the nutrients it needs, you will be less hungry. Also, if you just decrease appetite and don't supplement with nutrients, your body will go into "famine mode". It will slow down metabolism and use less energy as if there was a limited supply of food. This is what frustrates so many dieters. They eat less and don't see the weight loss they think they should. This is where our amazing liquid nutrition comes in. Nutrition in a liquid form is absorbed at about a 95% rate. Pills are absorbed at about a 20% rate. Studies have shown that as much as 80% of the American population is deficient in Vitamin D. We also do not put trace minerals and elements in our fertilizers. This means they are no longer in our vegetables we grow. So you could be lacking in nutrients even though you are eating “healthy”. I have found an excellent liquid supplement called Vemma. Vemma contains a full days supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in one two ounce serving. It also contains the “wonder fruit” mangosteen that is being researched at the Mayo Clinic for its cancer fighting properties. Dr. Oz and his co-author Dr. Roizen take Vemma. The nice thing about Vemma is it is very easy to take. No carrying a bunch of pills around to take at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The other great thing about Vemma is that they have put the same dose of vitamins and minerals in an energy shot, an energy drink and a sports drink. This way if you are feeling a little sluggish, you can get a boost from a healthy energy drink with green tea and vitamins as the stimulant, rather than a soda with no nutritional value. The energy shots and drinks will also help to further curtail your appetite.
You can get more info at jeffreypayne.vemma.com. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTINUE TO TAKE VEMMA TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS AND CONTROL CRAVINGS, EVEN AFTER YOU ARE AT YOUR TARGET WEIGHT! At the beginning, we will also be using a bee pollen and herb supplement to help control your appetite. This supplement along with the Vemma, will also act as to cleanse your bowel. You will notice increased bowel movements which may be more loose than normal. You must drink a lot of water while you are taking this supplement. You will be losing water because of increased bowel movements and may have headaches if you don’t drink enough water.
Mind
Lasting changes to your body image have to start in your self- image. You have to change the way you view yourself in order to change your body for any length of time. Your subconscious mind is a powerful driving force that shapes more of our actions than we realize. The good thing about the subconscious mind is that is easily fooled. Please do not discount this step in your transformation to a healthier person. Anything you repeatedly introduce to your subconscious mind, it picks up and starts to make into reality. Here is how to start changing your self- image. Make a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight and get healthier. Examples would be to enjoy life more or get back to activities you can’t do because of your extra weight. Take your time with this list. Next, change this list to read as if it is already true. For example “I am glad I am healthy so that I will be around to see my grandchildren get married”, "I am glad I am healthy so I can now run in a 5k race”, " I’m glad I’m healthier because now I look great in my bathing suit”. Again, be specific with these statements. Repeat these statements at least 3 times per day and always right before bed. Please get over feeling silly doing this and just try it for 6 weeks. If it doesn’t start making a change, you can quit. I know it will though. You can also update these as your health situation changes. Don’t be afraid to make bold statements that your conscious mind thinks you will never do. Just start saying them and see the power of your subconscious at work. Again please do this, it is a very important part of preventing a rebound weight gain.
Exercise
Increasing your heart rate for at least 40 minutes 5 times per week is essential to maintaining proper weight. The increase doesn’t have to be drastic. Start with light walking and ease into a comfortable level of exercise. Always ask your doctor for the ok to start an exercise program. It is good for your body to vary your exercise routines and use different muscles. Walking or jogging one day swimming or pilates the next. Whatever your choice, make sure it is something you enjoy. It is always better if you have a partner to hold you accountable.
Diet
Most of us know what our diet weakness is. For some its sweets, others fried food. Be honest with yourself about what your calorie trap is or you won’t be able to fix it. I have coached a lot of people who wanted to lose weight over the years. It is very rare to find one who will admit that they eat too much. When they describe their diet, they make it sound like Richard Simmons designed it. We have to be honest so we can deal with the things that we must change in order to stay healthy. Our diets do not have to be perfect. However, if we do slip and eat like we shouldn’t, then we need to increase our exercise that day or the next to balance things out and keep on track. One thing you will find is that as you eat greasy or sweet food less, you will lose your appetite for it. There are some simple ways to positively change your eating habits. First, only use whole wheat bread. Stay away from white bread that your body will immediately turn into sugar. Second, start to use more spices and herbs in your food. People often choose high fat foods because the fat adds flavor. Garlic, cayenne pepper, rosemary, basil, and other herbs will add flavor to your food and also help to keep you healthy. Third, try not to eat anything after 6pm. If you eat during the day, your activity will help you burn it off. When you eat late at night, your body changes those calories into fat. If you have to snack after 6pm, make it a very low calorie one like carrot sticks or other vegetables. Fourth, do not drink sweetened drinks, especially soda. Sweet drinks account for many of the calories in the typical American’s diet.
Last but not least, DRINK AT LEAST 8-10 GLASSES OF WATER EVERY DAY.
